Feldon Valley is an idyllic luxury retreat nestled in the beautiful north Cotswolds, comprising 25 en-suite bedrooms set across 4 lodges and one main building. The site is nestled in woodlands alongside their 18-hole golf course in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and includes a contemporary fine dining restaurant.

The hotel ran Avondata’s server-based system, Hotel Executive, for many years, and migrated to Rezcontrol during 2023 as they wanted to modernise; to become more streamlined and efficient; and to take advantage of cloud-based features such as live ‘anytime, anywhere’ access.

“It felt like a no-brainer migrating to Rezcontrol,” said David King, Managing Director at Feldon Valley.

“We always got on very well with Hotel Executive, but realised the time had come to modernise and upgrade, to take advantage of the efficiencies of being in the cloud and to streamline our operations.”

“Being able to log in live from different locations has been a game-changer – I can meet with my team online from anywhere and we can all see the same screen,” David explained.

He uses the system daily, and one of the key benefits for him is that more than one person can look at rates at the same time. “I’m often working remotely and when I speak with my GM, we can collaborate on the same page to make rate changes and I can get an update on the status quo,” he said.

“Of course, we know there are some global systems out there, but it suits our business very well to have a PMS supplier who is responsive, always answers the phone or responds to an email, and genuinely listens and keeps refining and improving the system.”

Feldon Valley’s onboarding process was very smooth and they especially value the service they receive from our tech support, if they need to get in touch with an issue, as well as the on-demand training.

“In terms of guest engagement, we see great value in the booking and pre-arrival communications, and the self check in and online checkout features,” said David, adding that these not only make the process smoother for guests and save time for staff, but also contribute to generating upsells and extras for the hotel.

The integration with Orbis connects their till and payments system to the reporting and end of day processes, generating a fully reconciled financial update, while SiteMinder ensures high levels of visibility online.
